Convention 2009

The 21st Annual Leadership Conference will be on October 22-25, 2009 at the Beach Cove Resort in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. You may arrive at the hotel and convention center as early as October 19, 2009, and still take advantage of our special convention rate.

Convention Agenda

The 2009 agenda focuses on training, including core courses, legal updates, and various issues we face in our communities. You will have opportunities to meet old friends and greet some of our new chiefs. In addition, we anticipate at least 50 vendors displaying their goods and services that can be available to you.

Registration and Reservation Procedures

Please be sure to register and make your hotel reservations soon. Register with us to attend the convention: there are different registration forms for members and for exhibitors. Reserve your hotel accommodations with the Beach Cove Resort directly. We cannot make hotel reservations and the Beach Cove Resort cannot accept convention registrations. The two are separate and you need to do both. 

Members Registration

The convention registration fee for members is $90. That fee registers the member and spouse or one guest. It covers all training materials for the member, two continental breakfasts, ladies brunch on Friday and Saturday, and banquet tickets.

Please download, complete, and mail the Members Registration Form to us as soon as possible so that we can ensure a smooth-running convention and a good experience for all who attend. We've also provided an announcement and invitation that you can print out.

Exhibitors Registration

The registration fee for exhibitors is $375 — which includes setup, a table, and electricity.

Please download, complete, and mail the Exhibitors Registration Form to us as soon as possible so that we can make appropriate preparations for your successful exhibit. We've also provided an announcement and invitation that you can print out.

Hotel Reservations

Reserve your accommodations by calling the Beach Cove Resort toll-free at 1-800-331-6533 or 1-843-918-9000. You must provide the following three items of information when you call for reservations:

1. Group Name: South Carolina Police Chiefs Association
2. Group Dates: 10/19/09 - 10/25/09
3. Group Rates: $76.16, $109.76, and $128.80, tax included.

Be sure to register with us for the convention soon and to make your hotel reservation with the Beach Cove Resort early enough to have your choice of accommodations. The Beach Cove Resort will hold a block of rooms for our exclusive use until 45 days prior to the convention, which is roughly September 12, 2009. After that date, rooms will be available on a first-come basis. Register for the convention us as soon as possible and make your room reservation early with the Beach Cove Resort.

The Beach Cove Resort requires a deposit of one night’s rate to confirm each room reservation. If you cancel at least 14 days in advance of your arrival date the Beach Cove Resort will refund your deposit less a $20.00 administration charge. If you cancel less than than 14 days in advance of your arrival date, or if you are a no-show on arrival date, the Beach Cove Resort will charge you the full amount of the first night's rate.

Hotel Room Rates

As usual we have excellent special rates with the Beach Cove Resort for the duration of the convention and a few days before. You may reserve at these rates for arrival as early as October 19. All rates include tax. These rates are per night, based on single or double occupancy. If more than two adults occupy a room there is a charge of $10.00 per night for each additional adult. Check-in time is 4:00 P.M. Check-out time is 11:00 A.M.
